Muscles

I just want to say that CT is really strong and can lift REALLY heavy things like a solid wood queen size bed and a huge dresser and act like its no big deal. EVEN carrying the aforementioned heavy things up a flight of stairs by himself. Very impressive and extremely kind. I somethings think I can do things that I am really not strong enough for. So its awesome when friends are willing to help me out with my house projects that are too heavy or hard for me or things I just can't figure out how to do. But I do sometimes surprise myself. Like a was able to get a huge box containing a dresser that weighed 141lbs out of my car and half way up the sidewalk. My arms can't lift 141lbs. I think my arms max out at around 80lbs. But my legs are stronger so I got the box up on my foot and carried it that way. I've even had some guys comment about how strong I am and they haven't even added "for a girl" to the end of it. So, there you have it.

Woohoo. New desk chair!

Here is my old chair. It was given to me about 4-5 years ago and was kindof broken at that point as it was stuck in the lowest position and the center column dragged on the floor and you couldn't lean back in it very well. But it served its purpose and I was glad to have it.
But it was time for a new chair as I spend lots of time at the computer editing pictures and goofing around so I needed something a little more comfortable. So, voila! Here is my new leather desk chair!
And the major bonus. I ended up only paying $40 for it after a $10 off coupon from OfficeMax and a $30 discount for buying the floor model. Sweet.

The Lafferettes

A few pics from Saturdays shoot with the Lafferty's. The first one is my favorite from the shoot. I got a few good ones but we only had 30minutes to shoot b/c the place closed at 5 - I thought it closed at 6 so we might have to do another mini shoot soon. Fun. Fun. I must say it was MUCH easier to shoot them before they had a very mobile kiddo. :0)~

Rivera Rascals

ok, they are not really rascals at all. Here are some shots from the recent little shoot though.

Kyra cracking herself up. Was pretty funny.
the little movie star. doesn't she look like some classic movie star or something with that expression and eyes?

Cute in the bluebonnets. Check out the little bit of flare in the top corner.
Love the missing tooth. A bunch of the 5-6 year olds seem to be missing teeth lately.
Check out the awesome light. Love it. I am trying to be less afraid of shooting in the sun lately, esp nice late afternoon sun.
The three frolicking in the weeds/flowers. :0)
An artsy version of Kyra. Got a little crazy with the Art History brush in photoshop.

Kobi Kiddos

Here are a few pics of the Kobi Kiddos. They are on the artsy side as I was in a "hey, lets see if this works" mood that day. I left the sunflare in for now atleast and played with saturation and contrast. They were quite fun to play with and all 4 cooperated. I'll post a few from the Rivera kid shoot later. They are also too precious.

In M's News this week.

1. I "texurized" by printer by accident. I was spraying new texture on one of my walls and overshot the wall and hit the printer 4 feet away. oppsy.

2. I made and ate mac and cheese with hotdogs. Hadn't eaten that in many, many years.

3. I painted ALL day yesterday. My room is now a blue-gray in my opinion. Technically its Gray, but its quite blue on the wall even though it has no blue in the mix. And on my pants it looks quite green. Weird. Maybe its Harry Potter paint that keeps changing colors or something.

4. Every muscle in my body is in major pain. Especially both of my hands. I've never had such massive hand pain. I guess its from all the painting. They hurt so bad I couldn't sleep. I thought about taken vicodin but settled for Tylenol as I needed to work today.

5. I still haven't done my taxes. Instead I painted and did baby announcements for 2 clients this week.

6. The bluebonnets are pretty much dead. I did convince 3 people to do pics in the flowers before they died though. I'll be editing those pics next week.

7. My parents will be here in 4 weeks!

In News today...

my car passed inspection. I realize this might not sound like news to you. I still consider my 7 year old car my "new car" so ofcourse it should pass inspection, but its cranky. The car computer has a little problem in that it likes turning the "check engine" light on when there is nothing wrong with the car. A couple years ago I spent much money trying to fix the problem and have given up. BUT it won't pass inspection with the light on... sooo... I clear the codes a day or so before I get it inspected and then drive around getting all the sensors to come back on but trying not to have the check engine light come on. Then I go get it inspected and hope my little method works. 2 years. Worked both times. woohoo. Hopefully I can get this car to go another few years and then maybe I can get a Z. Now that would be groovy. Only problem with that is I can't see over the steering wheel since it sits so low. I shall overcome my deficiencies.
