Unexpected stop on the Steak Tour

Restaurant Week is a month away and I hope to enjoy more steak then but I got a special surprise while I was home and enjoyed a lovely steak at Casa Bennett. Dad told me we could grill out while I was home but I was figuring burgers or chicken or something. Instead we had filet minion!  AND baked potatoes. The steak was great. Mom asked me how I like it seasoned. Ha. I think she forgets I SO can't cook, and I didn't have the heart to tell her I just go to fancy restaurants and let them season my steak. So she put a little bit of "steak seasoning" on it and that was it. The steak was about an inch thick, maybe more, so that was awesome. We were trying to do them medium-rare but they ended up medium. Very tasty though. oh, and once my steak was on my plate I put a little slab of butter on it just to be fancy. And we had a baked potato with all the toppings. We thought of doing veggies but decided we didn't need them. I had been over at Rachel's most of the day and while I was gone mom ALSO made a fresh apple pie. Homemade crust and everything. AND the apples she had picked at the orchid the week before. Perfect. The type of apple is one we don't have here, they were sweeter than a granny smith but not all watery like most sweeter apples. Was sortof like a Johnathan apple I think. Although what do I know. I do know the pie was awesome. Had it for dinner that night and breakfast the next two days. Pie for breakfast. Yep, I am an adult. Dad even asked if I wanted ice cream on it at breakfast. As a kid I so wouldn't have gotten away with that. :o)~
