Glass Class
I took a 4 week glass class that ended a few weeks ago. Here are the projects I did. The class was a little too basic but I did learn some stuff and enjoyed it. Classes are really expensive so I might stick to just doing the glass stuff on my own and then just take it into the studio for firings. Which is still pretty expensive. Maybe I should just buy a kiln. :0)~
this is a "napkin vase," it's about 4" tall so really not much of a vase but its fun. You could put a candle or something in it.
this is a small blue bowl, about 6" across. I like the shape and edges but some of my design around the edges disappeared in the firings.
here is a crazy colored crazy-bowl. Its a bunch of chunks of glass melted together. About 5" across. Kindof looks like an ash tray.
this one isn't on a stand yet but is a drop-ring bowl so its round on the bottom. Its made to sit on a metal stand but I haven't got one yet. Fun colors though. Looks like a party, eh.
I tried to keep my designs fairly simple as I think those look better with the projects we were doing. Some people get really crazy with designs in glass and most of the time I think it looks too gaudy. Just my opinion. :0)

what awesome glass stuff Michele!!! man, it amazes me how professional and store bought soo much of your stuff looks. I bet you could sell all the glass and pottery stuff that you've made that you have around your house and buy yourself a kiln... :) i'm actually kind of serious about that.
I LOVE the napkin vase one. It puts our Bed, Bath and Beyond stainless steel one to so much shame. :) I love the green, translucent body with the white and orange flowing stripes...very elegant looking.
The chunks of colored glass one could be a little candy bowl in your office...like holding mints or something. :) ...love the variety in that one. Which, by the way, do you actually have any of your work in your office on display? You should. People would probably offer to buy it.
The drop-ring bowl is definitely party looking :) ...but what's a drop-ring? just the design of it with a rounded bottom?
I like how you keep your stuff simple...because it allows whatever design you choose to stick out, which always adds the pop and pizzazz to your stuff...so cool. man, I love your stuff Michele.
