Wal-mart

I don't usually go to Wal-mart, reasons include, its huge, crowded, often noisy, all the organic type people seem to boycott it, and yes, most of the clothes and things most likely are made in sweatshops. But it is cheap. So I find myself needing to balance money, recycled paper towels, and time. So I was in wal-mart. I needed a variety of things, bananas, a kids soccer ball, paper towels, and something to hang a hanging planter with. The store up on 620 is under construction so I had no clue where to find anything. Made for a not so enjoyable trip. Anyway so I got a cart and headed into the craziness. I got the soccer ball and then was looking at plant stuff, I turned my back on my cart and was about 5 feet away from it, when I turned back around, the cart was GONE and the soccer ball was on the floor. But what the cart stealer didn't probably know is that the cart was really squeaky so I knew exactly WHO stole my cart as he made his way around the store. I little bit of me wanted to tell him he was a jerk but figured it wasn't worth it. Plus I've been struggling lately with the belief that some men even have the mental capacity to understand that they are acting like jerks. Anyway, so then I had to go get another cart at the front of the store and ventured over to the bakery and fruit area. I picked up a loaf of what seemed to be bakery-made bread that said Apple Fritter Bread on the label. I turned it over to read the ingredients and guess what?!? NO APPLES in the bread! How the heck can you made Apple Fritter Bread with no apples? And it was packed full of corn syrup. Which I will and do eat that crap but I want to know when I am. So I didn't buy it. ALSO I went over to the bagels and there was a VERY green package of bagels sitting there. Quite a moldy disgusting mess, but kindof interesting at the same time. So I got my few other items, paid for them, and left. Don't think I will go in Wal-mart again for a while. AND I let my Sams membership expire b/c I am ONE person. How am I going to eat 5 lbs of grapes or use 56 rolls of toilet paper. I had the membership mainly for when I had cats and brought 80 lbs of cat litter at a time. I have friends with Costco memberships so I'll tag along with them if I really need anything from a warehouse store. Well, i am still a little Eeyore but I'll be ok.

so our old assistant store manager, Nona, used to LOVE apple fritters. she would eat them like all the time whenever we had them, and when I opened with her, she would be sad if i didn't "accidentally" break one so she could eat it. I think she bought or broke one every single day. until one day when she bit into an apple and spit it all out into her hands. she was so disgusted by the presence of an actual APPLE in her apple fritter. i always thought she was crazy for that. she never ate one again.

they always had apples in them. she just never noticed. maybe some apple fritter things just aren't made with apples.

also: i hate wal-mart. and i'm not a crazy organic person (although i'm trudging begrudgingly in that direction). i just hate it.

    still like you though.
